About the Role:
Hunter Philips is partnered with a Pan-Asian renewable energy platform focused on solar PV, onshore wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Backed by a global infrastructure asset manager, the business aims to achieve a 1GW operational portfolio in Japan by 2030 as part of a larger 10GW regional strategy.
As Managing Director - Japan, you will lead a growing local team and drive strategic growth through M&A, greenfield development, and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategy to deliver a 1GW renewable energy portfolio by 2030.
- Drive commercial decisions, secure investments, and close deals.
- Represent the company with stakeholders and partners.
- Serve as a board member for joint ventures.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in Japanese and English.
- Proven track record in delivering energy infrastructure projects in Japan.
- Experience in renewables (solar PV, onshore wind, BESS) preferred.
- Strong commercial and entrepreneurial mindset with M&A expertise.
- Ability to lead and scale teams in a hands-on, results-driven environment.
